Defence and aerospace

Platform power, EMC and the cyber requirement that flows down with the contract.

Who buys this: Primes, sub-tier suppliers and MOD delivery teams.

Why it matters now

This is the sector Intepro UK has the longest record in, and the record is public rather than asserted: DE&S holds a current contract with Intepro UK Limited for in-service support of Power Supply Unit Automatic Test Equipment supporting UK Air Defence, awarded on the basis that Intepro is the OEM and design authority for it.

What the work actually involves

Platform DC supplies tested to Def Stan 61-005 rather than the American equivalent; EMC to Def Stan 59-411; and, increasingly, a cyber requirement that arrives with the purchase order. DEFCON 658 flows down the supply chain, so a delivered test system is in scope even when the contract is with somebody three tiers up. On a test rig the controls land mostly on the executive and the delivered software, not on the power hardware.
