Def Stan 61-005 Part 6 Issue 7
Def Stan 61-005 Part 6 — military vehicle DC supplies
The British standard for DC electrical systems in land platforms, and the load dump you cannot generate with a bench supply.
Part 6 Issue 7 was released in March 2020. Both the old 61-5 and the modern three-digit 61-005 designations remain in live use.
Why this reaches the test bench
How this differs from the American regime
A US supplier sells MIL-STD-1275 for the same physical problem. Same physics, different document, different buyer, different report.
Why we do not quote this document
The Def Stan catalogue sits entirely behind Defence Gateway SSO, and a contractor cannot self-register — an application must be sponsored by an existing user. The designation and issue level are openly published by test houses and standards resellers and are cited here. Clause text, limit lines and test tables are not reproduced.
